Acute assessment outpatient clinic

Contact point for all newly referred patients with a suspected rheumatic disease. A specialist in rheumatology offers competent initial advice and decides whether further care is best provided by us or by doctors from other specialities.

Rheumatism outpatient clinic level 6, secretary 6 J

Monday to Friday: 9 AM - 12:30 PM

In our outpatient clinic, we primarily treat patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases. These primarily include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory spinal diseases, ‘collagenoses’ (systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory muscle diseases, scleroderma, vasculitis, Sjögren's disease, autoinflammatory syndromes and others) and gouty arthropathy.

For patients with osteoarthritis, diseases of the bones and mineral metabolism
(osteoporosis, metabolic bone diseases), pain syndromes and other non-primarily inflammatory musculoskeletal diseases, we offer counselling as part of the initial assessment with suggestions for the coordination of further diagnostics and treatment. This is primarily carried out by other outpatient clinics or by doctors in private practice.

Special outpatient clinic for inflammatory RHEumatic Diseases and RePROduction (RHE PRO)

In the special outpatient clinic for inflammatory rheumatic diseases and reproduction, women who wish to have children or who are pregnant receive interdisciplinary care. Since inflammatory rheumatic diseases can usually be treated well today and a normal life is possible, in many cases the desire to start a family is part of the process. However, the pregnancy should be well planned and accompanied by multidisciplinary support. In particular, the disease activity should be as low as possible and it may be necessary to change medication. For this reason, the Rheumatology Department and the Women's Clinic of the Medical University offer a joint consultation.

The Austrian pregnancy register RHE PRO (Rheumatism, Fertility and Pregnancy) was also founded to promote the care of women with rheumatic diseases and the desire to have children.

Specialised outpatient clinic for clinical immunology

The specialised outpatient clinic for clinical immunology primarily diagnoses and treats primary immunodeficiencies in adolescents and adults and autoinflammatory syndromes.

The outpatient clinic also decides on admission to the inpatient or day ward if necessary.
