Bioinformatician / Data Scientist (f/m/d)

We seek a motivated Bioinformatician/Data Scientist to strengthen our bioinformatics team, with a focus on data management, quality control, workflow development, and documentation.

We conduct basic, clinical, and translational research on rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, combining wet-lab and computational approaches. Our large omics datasets (bulk, single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics) as well as clinical data from patient and model systems drive discoveries into disease mechanisms, treatment development, and response prediction.

Your Tasks

  • Manage, document and integrate raw and processed omics as well as clinical data.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across the entire lifecycle
  • Handle server-related tasks, including software setup and maintenance.
  • Develop and document analysis workflows using version control (git).
  • Process data using established software and statistical methods.
  • Support wet-lab scientists
  • Statistical and data-management support of clinicians.
  • Build interactive portals for internal and external data exploration.

 

Your Profile

  • A bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, data science, biostatistics, or related discipline.
  • Experience with data management and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in R and at least a basic experience in Unix and Python.
  • Good organizational skills and solid code documentation skills, experience with git.
  • Collaborative mindset, good communications skills, motivation to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent command of English (both spoken and written, C1).
  • Legally authorized to work in the EU.

  • Full or part-time (50%) appointment.
  • An annual gross salary for a full-time position (40 hours per week) starting from €52,000, with possibility of a higher salary depending on academic qualification and professional experience.
  • Fundings for this position are available for a minimum of four years and potentially renewable.
